Training Opportunities in the UK

Coming to a new country may mean that your qualifications don’t come with you, which means you may not be able to get the same kind of work you did back home.

The Industrial Services team at PSI Global are hoping to change this. Partnering with Train the Painter for Industrial Painters, the team is currently reaching out to workers from a number of countries who are looking to gain qualifications in the UK similar to those they had back home. This means they can get back into the work they previously enjoyed in their home country.

In addition to Industrial Painters, the team will also be able to offer competency tests for those that worked as a Scaffolder back in their home country. This will give another group of workers an opportunity to gain employment in their chosen careers here in the UK.

Training Courses

The Industrial Services team at PSI Global has partnered with Train the Painter to offer training services for those who may be looking to earn qualifications in the UK that they had back in their home country. This will then give them the opportunity to take on Industrial Services jobs in various shipyards and dockyards across the UK.

Train the Painter is “the world’s leading industry recognised and fully accredited Industrial Coating Applicator Training Programme”. They offer several different courses for workers to gain qualifications, giving them the opportunity for more opportunities for construction work in the UK.

The company offers the following qualifications…

  • Protective Coating Applicator
  • Spray Painting
  • Abrasive Blast Cleaning
  • Thin Film Intumescent Coating Applicator
  • Thick Film Intumescent Coating Applicator
  • Thermal Metal Spraying Applicator
  • Water Jetting
  • Marine Coating Applicator
  • Coating Supervisor

People who may have worked as a Scaffolder in their home country will also have an opportunity to get back to work in their chosen profession. A competency test will be available to ensure you’re qualified for the job, and if you pass, you’ll be placed on-site.

PSI Global’s Commitment to Training

The team at PSI Global has always been committed to offering our workers training and upskilling opportunities. Typically, this will happen with our workers who are already on-site on one of our many projects across the UK.

This new venture will give a number of workers who aren’t working for us yet to gain qualifications and then be placed on a job. “We’re excited about this new opportunity as it will help to get people who already have the skills needed back into the career of their choice,” explained Divisional Manager Rebecca Law.

The recruitment team at PSI Global is specifically looking for people who have experience in industrial services or construction back in their home country, but whose qualifications have not transferred to the UK. We want to help those who may have had to take on a different job to what they prefer and make sure they get back into the career of their choice.

If you’re interested in joining the programme, contact us now by emailing Bookings@psiglobaltraining.com for further information. Make sure you explain what your previous role was back home.
